Conference Recorder provides the following settings panel which is accessible from the iChat Preferences window:
Movie Options:
The following options control the quality of the movie and affect file size.
- Image Size: Choose small, medium, large or extra large movie size.
- Frame Rate: Low, medium or high movie frame rate.
- Video Quality: Select your video compression level.
- Audio Quality: Select your audio compression level.
You can control both the image size of your recorded movies and the quality (clarity) of the image. These two factors affect the amount disk space your movies will require.
The table below gives estimated file sizes for a given combination of video settings. Note that these estimates use a 15 frame per second rate. Sizes are per minute of recorded video with audio.

Recording Options:
- Record Audio Only: Save disk space by recording just audio.
- Automatically Record Conferences: Start recording all or selected A/V chats automatically. Click the "Options" button to select which buddies are recorded.
- Show Recording Indicator On Video: Choose to have Conference Recorder display a flashing red dot symbol in the chat window.
- Hide Picture-in-Picture During Conference: Select this option to hide the picture-in-picture inset of your own camera's image.
- Automatically Show Recording Controls: If this option is selected, the recording controls will be shown when a new conference begins.
- Attach Recording Controls To Chat Window: If this option is selected, then the recording controls will appear as a drawer attached to the current chat window. If this option is not selected, then the recording controls will appear as a separate window.
Save Movies To: You can select a location for your Saved AV Conferences folder. By default, this is located within the "Movies" folder in your home directory. You can select a different location from this menu, or set a custom location of your choosing.
